The Five Love Languages is a book written by Gary Chapman who is an expert when it comes to relationships. He suggest that there are 5 love languages and each person has their own way of feeling loved. What are they you ask?
1. Acts of Service 2. Words of Affirmation 3. Gifts 4. Personal Touch 5. Quality Time
Example – When a man gives his woman gifts all the time to show her his love, he should be aware that her love language might be quality time. This means that all the gifts are a nice gesture, but she feels loved the most when he spends quality time with her. After my husband read the book, he told me, “It is a good thing that book is purple because if I had read this thing in high school, I would have been the man!”. Knowing a person’s love language is so important and your connection with them will be worth figuring it out.
What does this have to do with photography? Well, the love languages can be used with any relationships. You friends have a love language, your kids, your mailman, and yes, even your photography studio has one.
Today I came across a review from a customer who was so kind to take the time to write some words of praise for a review of our studio and those few sentences made a big impact on everyone. All too often, people have a great experience but they only leave a review when the business had a blip. All the laughter, smiles, funny moments, even the ones that are really sentimental never get shared. Here is the review:
We had our child’s first portrait session here for the growth panel- a series of photos from pre-sitting, sitting, and first steps. We’re just at the first leg and so far we’re really happy. Excellent quality, personal attention, and I love that this is a local family business, not a chain or corporation. I’ll update this as we go along.
PS they have really cool bookmarks available with your photo and you can have a name written in on it- it looks really sharp!
You might have guessed it by now, but our love language is words of affirmation. I wanted to say thanks to Diane for the praise. I also encourage you to leave us a little love note on our google site if you feel led to do so.
Thanks!

While checking out our archives, I came across a session we did last month that just about knocked me right out of my chair. I couldn’t believe I didn’t see these prints go out the door. I remembered talking with the mother on the phone about appointment times and the holiday schedule a couple of times, but I never had the opportunity to see the final images.
