“Good parents don’t let their children grow up to be JPEGs”
How many family photos are on your phone now? Hundreds? Thousands? Have you sorted through them to create an archival folder of the very best photos of your family? No? So why would you want another 100 JPEGs in your pictures folder?
In an era of media overload and ubiquitous phone usage, it is our opinion that a really well done family photo session deserves a better ending than 100 mass produced JPEGs for your laptop and phone. They need to retouched, printed, and displayed in your home, and they will be heirlooms that will grow in value as the years pass and the family changes.
- We want to maximize the quality of your photo session by shooting at the best time of the day, with Dad and the kids in a good mood, properly dressed, with an understanding that these are going to be really great photographs, and the session is going to be a lot of fun.
- We are going to shoot a lot of pictures — 100 or more is normal — and you are not going to want to sort through them to find the best. Let us do that job for you by picking the best 5-6 images from each pose.
- We will do a basic color correction job on this group of pictures, and process the Camera Raw files into pretty JPEGs for your review. These are called “proofs”.
- We will sit down together and view these pictures on a big screen so you can see details and expressions. We bring a 37” monitor to your location to show you the proofs.
- You get to choose the single best photo from each pose. From that group of “finals” you get to decide which ones you want to print and display in your home.
- The photographs that you order are professionally retouched in our studio. A good retouching job takes care of blemishes, skin irregularities, color balance, stray hairs, and can take about 1 hour. We can also swap heads from one photo to another.
- The images are sent to our lab for professional printing, and drop-shipped to your home.
- For every photo that we retouch and print, we will give you a copy of the retouched digital master that we send to the lab for printing — FREE.
